Bellator MMA’s talent acquisition program keeps yielding more promising wrestling prospects. While we await the mixed martial arts (MMA) debuts of fellow collegiate standouts Aaron Pico and Jarod Trice, there is now have another wrestling stud to keep an eye on by the name of Joey Davis.
His credentials could impress even a gold medalist like Cael Sanderson. In four straight years at Notre Dame College (not to be confused with the University of Notre Dame) Davis went a sparkling 131-0 and earned four consecutive NCAA Division II itles.
Davis wasted no time offering a statement to the media about joining the Bellator roster.
“With God you can achieve anything, and I’m gonna do it with high fashion. Joining Bellator is my latest achievement to date. I don’t remember what it’s like to lose, and I’m not planning on finding out any time soon.”
He’s in good company then at Antonio McKee’s Body Shop out in Long Beach, California. That’s because the elder McKee once ran an unbeaten streak from 2003-2010 and his son, A.J. McKee, is an undefeated Bellator prospect at Featherweight.
Bellator plans to debut Davis in the Welterweight division at a date yet to be determined.
