Following fatal hit-and-run, UFC vet Ryan Jimmo dead at 34

After being struck in an allegedly intentional hit-and-run accident, seven-time UFC veteran Ryan Jimmo is dead at 34-years-old.

CBC.ca reported Sunday that an unidentified 34-year-old man passed away in a local hospital after being struck in a hit-and-run accident in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that morning.

After rumors circulated social media, BloodyElbow.com confirmed with multiple sources close to the situation Sunday night that the victim was UFC veteran Ryan Jimmo.

According to the initial report, Jimmo approached the occupants of a vehicle in the parking lot of H2O Lounge following an alleged altercation. As he walked away, the alleged suspects’ vehicle accelerated, struck him and fled the scene. The vehicle is a dark-colored pickup truck with over-sized tires and clear tail lights.

The two suspects have not been found by the Edmonton Police Department at this time.

Jimmo was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

Jimmo, a seven-time UFC veteran, made his professional MMA debut in 2007 under the Maximum Fighting Championship banner. After an impressive 10-fight winning streak from 2008 to 2012, the Canadian was signed to the UFC. He holds UFC wins over Sean O’Connell, Anthony Perosh and Igor Pokrajac. He was released from the promotion after his last fight, a unanimous decision loss to Francimar Barroso in May 2015.
