Like father, like son.

Kevin Ferguson Jr., son to the late combat sports sensation “Kimbo Slice,” will make his mixed martial arts (MMA) debut at the upcoming Bellator 160: “Henderson vs. Pitbull” event on Aug. 26, 2016, inside Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., on Spike TV.

Slice passed away from heart failure back in June.

“I won’t say I adjusted well or it didn’t bother me, but I was talking to him a few days before, so I understood what was going on,” Ferguson told the Associated Press. “It was more of a shock to the world, put it like that. It was still a very big tragedy, but I got through it. I’m still getting through it. I won’t say I’m over it, but I’m working on it, I guess.”

Ferguson, who won his amateur debut by way of knockout back in March (embedded above), signed with Bellator prior to his father’s passing, according to the report.

An opponent for next month’s card, headlined by the lightweight showdown between Ben Henderson and Patricio Freire, has yet to be revealed. Fortunately for Ferguson, teammates  A.J. McKee, Bubba Jenkins, and Joey Davis are all expected to participate.

Stay tuned.
