CM Punk says ‘hack journalists’ don’t care about him, they’re just bitter

Responding to questions over his licensing in the state of Ohio, CM Punk told the media that it’s not real concern, just hacks who didn’t get invited to the show.

Questions about exactly how or why the Ohio Athletic Commission decided to give CM Punk a license to compete at UFC 203 are probably a bit overblown. As much as they may not help themselves by comparing Punk to the 6’ 3″ DI National Champion wrestling powerhouse that is Brock Lesnar, they’re perfectly within their discretion to waive their experience requirements for a guy like Punk.

That doesn’t mean the process isn’t worth asking questions about. Well, unless you’re CM Punk, apparently.

It seems the former WWE star took a dim view of media interest in his getting licensed to compete in Ohio when he took those “hack journalists” to task in a recent interview with Fox Sports:

“They’re worried about my well-being? No, they’re not,” Punk said. “They’re hack journalists who (expletive) just want to stir up a bunch of (expletive) for no reason cause they don’t get invited to this.”

As long as Punk is in the UFC, getting attention, getting promotion, and getting fights, questions like these are bound to arise. Is money and fame the only thing required to grease the wheels in high end MMA competition? The longer CM Punk’s MMA career continues, the more we’re going to find out.
