Henderson said he already had seen the gravity-defying,
cage-assisted flying kick that Anthony Pettis used to floor him in the
fifth round of their WEC 53 main-event scrap.

“I saw it in Mortal Kombat once,” Henderson joked.

It’s that type of attitude that made “Smooth” an instant star during his
tenure in the WEC. And while he’ll now make the transition to the UFC
coming off of a loss rather than as the promotion’s No. 1 lightweight
contender, Henderson insists he’ll still be a force in his new home.
