Frankie Edgar (-340) vs. Jeremy Stephens (+280) Khabib Nurmagomedov (-280) vs. Michael Johnson (+240) Rafael Natal (-155) vs. Tim Boetsch (+135) Belal Muhammad (-165) vs. Vicente Luque (+125) Thiago Alves (-160) vs. Jim Miller (+140) Kaitlyn Chookagian (-170) vs. Liz Carmouche (+150)
Thoughts: The fundamental issue with huge cards like this is that the massive amount of betting attention tends to normalize the lines — outliers get gobbled up and smoothed out real quick. Therefore, your best options, as far as I can tell, are Muhammad and Chookagian.
Muhammad is, to the delight of gamblers everywhere, inordinately hard to finish. Against a proven finisher like Luque, that’s a treat. Without the threat of one fight-changing moment, Muhammad’s superior striking and grinding style should carry the day, especially in light of Luque’s short notice. Luque won’t be avenging Nathan Coy anytime soon, so be sure you can profit from his failure.
I love the “Girl-Rilla” and she’s probably the best ground-and-pounder in the division, but she’s been out since two Aprils ago and hasn’t had a dominant performance since blasting out Jessica Andrade in 2013. Chookagian already turned aside a similar fighter in Lauren Murphy and should be able to do the same here. Bank on it.
You can probably stick Edgar in a parlay, too. Stephens hits hard, but is outgunned in the wrestling and trying to take out Edgar with one punch is a fool’s errand.

Alvarez is, to his eternal detriment, fairly easy to hurt. He is also ludicrously difficult to put away and is deceptively smart in the cage, especially in regard to his footwork. He’s both the best wrestler and the hardest puncher McGregor has faced behind Chad Mendes (Jose Aldo moment notwithstanding) and has consistently proven himself capable of five-round wars.
Therefore, take a chance on Eddie.
Cerrone’s probably my pick for the safest investment on the entire card, simply because Gastelum presents no issues he hasn’t brutally dealt with in the past. Gastelum has good power and a terrific transition game, but his Brazilian jiu-jitsu pales in comparison to “Cowboy’s” and I’m not sure he wants any part of Cerrone on the feet.
Go big on Cerrone or go home.
