UFC reacts to creation of Mixed Martial Arts Athletes Association with legal-friendly statement

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) respects its fighters, despite what you may have heard, and probably has one of those little suggestion boxes at the sprawling “Sin City” compound built on the bones of yesteryear’s punching bags.

That’s why the Mixed Martial Arts Athletes Association (MMAAA) is a welcome addition to the combat sports community. Sure, it’s run by “Bjork” Rebney and some guy who doesn’t want to fight, but freedom of speech and all that jazz.

“We respect all of our athletes and are always open and willing to hear their thoughts on how to improve the sport,” a UFC official told MMA Fighting.

That kind of response keeps stuff like this at bay.

Unfortunately nobody really believes it, especially when you consider that MMAAA exists for no other reason than to secure a massive financial settlement — payable to the fighters — as well as revenue sharing that will directly impact UFC’s bottom line.
