Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu multi-time champion Dillon Danis is feeling good about how his UFC debut would turn out.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu standout Dillon Danis has already made waves in the grappling scene, but most recently, he’s been making some noise in MMA when he was tapped to become Conor McGregor’s training partner.
Danis first worked with “The Notorious” in preparation for the UFC 202 rematch against Nate Diaz last August. McGregor’s camp did pick up the win, but Danis also managed to start a mini rift with Diaz at the time.
The 23-year-old Marcelo Garcia black belt still holds the aspirations to transition into MMA. If he does make it to the UFC, he believes he would be able to make a strong first impression.
“I honestly think I can go my first fight in the UFC, and I think I would dominate,” Danis said during Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour (via MMA Fighting). “I say that 100 percent being fact. I’m not a stupid person and I know what I’m capable of. I know who I’ve trained with, and I know what I’ve seen.”
Danis has not specified which weight class he intends to fight at. But even so, he is already looking at the possibility of facing fellow young stud Sage Northcutt.
“That would be an easy fight. Just to get in there. That would be a good, easy one to just get out of the way,” Danis claimed. “Beat someone that has a decent name.”
