Report: Jimi Manuwa vs. Corey Anderson on tap for UFC London

Hard-hitting light heavyweight Jimi Manuwa will be taking on Corey Anderson in the UFC’s March 18th return to London, England.

A UFC light heavyweight matchup between two top-10 ranked fighters is set for Saturday, March 18th, as FloCombat reports that Jimi Manuwa (ranked #5) will face Corey Anderson (ranked #9) at UFC Fight Night 108 in London, England. The whole card will stream live on UFC Fight Pass. UFC officials have not formally announced the bout, as of this writing.

Manuwa (16-2) fought just once in 2016, having been inactive for more than a year due to injury. He turned in perhaps the best performance of his career, brutally stopping Ovince Saint Preux in the 2nd round of their UFC 204 clash in Manchester, England. Prior to KOing OSP, Manuwa himself was KO’d by top contender Anthony Johnson. Manuwa is known for his vicious power, and has won by KO or TKO in 14 of his 16 wins.

Anderson (9-2) bounced back from a loss to Mauricio Rua by dominating and TKOing Sean O’Connell at last month’s UFC Albany card. The TUF 19 winner has spent most of his 11-fight career in the UFC, and has compiled a record of 6-2. His win over O’Connell was his first stoppage win since winning the TUF 19 tournament final against Matt Van Buren, also by TKO.

UFC Fight Night 108 currently does not have a main event, but does include a lightweight matchup featuring Joseph Duffy and Reza Madadi, as well as a featherweight bout between Arnold Allen and Makwan Amirkhani.
