UFC welterweights Alex Oliveira and Tim Means will now meet on March 11 after a No Contest in their first encounter.
Welterweights Alex Oliveira and Tim Means have agreed to rematch in Brazil. Their first fight, at UFC 207, ended in a No Contest due to Means throwing illegal knees to a downed Oliveira’s head. Combate reports that the pair will now meet again on March 11.
Alex Oliveira (16-3-1(2)) was on a two-fight winning streak prior to the No Contest, having TKO’d former Bellator lightweight champion, Will Brooks and defeated James Moontasri by unanimous decision in his last two outings. Oliveira’s last loss came by submission when Donald Cerrone finished him with a triangle choke back in February 2016.
Also on a two-fight streak prior to the incident, Tim Means (26-7-1(1)) had knocked out both Sabah Homasi and John Howard in his last two appearances. His last loss was a guillotine choke submission to Matt Brown at UFC 189, in July 2015.
The bout order for UFC Fight Night 106 has not yet been finalized. The card will be headlined by a middleweight clash between Vitor Belfort and Kelvin Gastelum, most likely with a lightweight fight between Edson Barboza and Beneil Dariush in the co-main event.
