UFC ‘Fortaleza’ preview: Kelvin Gastelum poised to become reluctant two-division title threat
Former top-ranked Welterweight contender, Kelvin Gastelum, will look to stake a claim as a Middleweight title threat this Saturday evening (March 11, 2017) when he takes on perennial division Vitor Belfort inside Centro de Formacao Olimpica de Fortaleza in Fortaleza, Brazil.
Gastelum’s move up to 185 pounds was not by choice, though. He has missed the 170-pound limit on three separate occasions, prompting company President Dana White to elevate him to Middleweight status. And if he can defeat Belfort, Gastelum’s days at Welterweight could be done for good as he makes a run for the 185-pound title.
