Golovkin vs. Jacobs airs live tonight on PPV with a fight time of 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT. We will have round by round coverage and live discussion right here, and stay with Bloody Elbow for live updates and analysis all night.
Headlining this PPV is the latest from the popular and undefeated Kazakh destroyer GGG, Gennady Golovkin. Golovkin has mowed down everyone in his path, looking like an unstoppable force ever since his HBO debut a few years back, leaving fans salivating for a big money opportunity for GGG, preferably against Canelo Alvarez. Here, he faces a good, dangerous opponent in Daniel Jacobs. Jacobs is a powerful puncher himself, and likely represents the best challenger on the table for Golovkin at this time. It should be a good fight.
Also on the card is the man many consider the sport’s best fighter right now, Roman Chocolatito Gonzalez. He’s in there with Thailand’s Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, who gave Carlos Cuadras a tough fight not long ago and some see as a possible spoiler here. Cuadras himeslf is also in action tonight – wins from both Cuadras and Gonzalez likely sets up a rematch between these two top-ranked 115 pound fighters.
Here is the full fight card, with live streaming results, and round by round coverage for the main event.

GENNADY GOLOVKIN VS. DANIEL JACOBS ROUND BY ROUND
Round 1: Smart, cautious start from both men with each probing with the jab. GGG controlling the center while Jacobs circles on the outside. Both try out some power punches, but nothing of note. This is just a test round really – very little to score on. GGG did seem to snap Jacobs’s head back a few more times with a crisp jab, so 10-9 Golovkin
Round 2: Jacobs opens the round in southpaw, giving him the left cross down the middle a few times. He doesn’t land it, and switches stances back after a minute. Less movement from both men here, and Golovkin’s output is quite low – he’s just not throwing much at all. Still nothing huge, but Jacobs did a good job stifling GGG’s game. 10-9 Jacobs
Round 3: Pace picks up a bit with Jacobs throwing some early combos. They start clinching this round, with Jacobs working to land some quick body shots inside when they do. Golovkin starting to throw more and flow between his punches, but Jacobs lands a nice little hook from the clinch – best punch of the night so far. 10-9 Jacobs; 29-28 Jacobs after 3 rounds.
Round 4: About 30 seconds in, GGG gets Jacobs against the ropes, throws a big combo, and Jacobs goes down. He regains his feet, but he’s stopped throwing and is all defense. Golovkin is on a roll now, throwing at will and landing. Jacobs doesn’t clinch, but manages to get back in it, so GGG slows back down. By the final seconds, it’s clear Jacobs is not at all done yet. 10-8 Golovkin
Round 5: Golovkin fighting with confidence now and he’s hurting Jacobs. He lands a nice body shot that briefly stuns Jacobs. For some reason, Jacobs continues to go back to the southpaw stance, but it doesn’t seem to do much for him until the final minute, when he starts to connect. Both men landed some good punches this round, but it was Golovkin’s punches that staggered Jacobs at times. 10-9 Golovkin
Round 6: Jacobs back in southpaw, though in that stance he’s at times circling to his left, into GGG’s power. GGG seems to be trying to maneuver him into the corner or ropes, but Jacobs avoids it. Nobody hurt this round, but Jacobs picks up the pace and lands more at a time when Golovkin seems to pull back slightly. 10-9 Jacobs. 57-56 Golovkin after 6
Round 7: Golovkin’s defense showing a few holes here, with Jacobs landing at times. Golovkin also is connecting with the overhand right. Midway through, GGG succeeds in getting Jacobs into the corner, but Jacobs comes out swinging hard to escape and lands in the exchange. Very heated end to the round sees both men throwing a bit wild from a clinch, but Jacobs looks to get the better of it. 10-9 Jacobs
Round 8: Golovkin comes out working a pretty simple 1-2, and it lands a few times. Back in southpaw, Jacobs connects with a good left, but Jacobs seems somewhat awkward from the position. Jacobs briefly takes the center and becomes the aggressor with a nice combo, though little lands clean. Nice clean right from GGG, though it doesn’t seem to phase Jacobs. Another close round with both men landing, but more clean shots from the champ. 10-9 Golovkin
Round 9: GGG again spending large sections of the round not throwing. Jacobs has upped his volume here, connecting with some nice combos, including a good inside right and some solid left hooks. GGG lands a good uppercut that he sense hurts Jacobs, and GGG piles on the volume. Round ends with Golovkin coming hard, stealing the round back in the final 30 seconds. 10-9 Golovkin. 86-84 Golovkin after 9
Round 10: Jacobs opens the round landing good hooks. The two men start clinching a bit more, which leads to some clashing of heads. Southpaw again with Jacobs keeping GGG outside of range with a flicking jab. GGG seems to trap him in the corner, but doesn’t capitalize. Again, Golovkin lands a shot to stun Jacobs late, but this time, it’s Jacobs who fires back, landing a pair of strong punches to close the round and decide the round. 10-9 Jacobs
Round 11: Jacobs gets lazy in the clinch early and GGG makes him pay with a tough right hook. Jacobs’s pace seems to have slowed just a bit, with Golovkin being more of an aggressor and connecting with a good uppercut. Jacobs stats to turn it up late, including some good body shots. Golovkin dodges most of a late Jacobs rally, but not enough of it, as Jacobs takes the round. 10-9 Jacobs, meaning I have it dead even going into the final round.
Round 12: Both come in looking for the big shot and fighting like they know the fight might be up for grabs. It’s a bit more of a phone booth battle here, with both connecting on those inside shots. Jacobs lands a clean right, GGG fires back, and JACOBS fires back! Razor close with 40 seconds left. In the final seconds, Jacobs looks exhausted. Very close round, but I think GGG edges it. 10-9 Golovkin
114-113 Golovkin on my card
