Nate Diaz gives his take on the boxing mega fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.
There may be a huge handful who now believe that the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor boxing match is more than just a pipe dream, but the general consensus is still that it is all mere hype. The latter sentiment is shared by Nate Diaz, who described the matchup by reviving one of his elder brother’s famous lines.
“Why is Mayweather telling everybody that McGregor has a chance? Man, they’re selling that hard. Man, that’s wolf tickets,” Diaz said during another MMA Hour special on Wednesday. “Remember wolf tickets? You guys are selling that hard and I’m not buying it.”
“It’s all a f—ing hype game and the UFC is in on it, too. What does it do? It brings boxing back alive, it brings MMA alive. It’s the only thing going on and it’s only because it’s the only thing going on. And they’re selling it like that.”
In December, Diaz spoke to Mayweather through FaceTime, and was cordial towards the retired undefeated boxer. In turn, McGregor called the Stockton native a “b-tch” for such actions.
Diaz also had something to say about these accusations from the Irishman.
“I’m not a disrespectful little d—head, is what’s what. I got respect for people and I’m not gonna mouth off unless they’re mouthing off to me. I’m not a little a—hole.
“That guy McGregor ain’t got no respect for nobody, that’s the thing,” Diaz continued. “And that guy got where he’s at by being a disrespectful little s—t. But either way, I’d have whooped your ass in a boxing match, McGregor.”
