Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to the hurt business this weekend with the upcoming UFC 211: “Miocic vs. Dos Santos 2” pay-per-view (PPV) fight card, which takes place inside American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, on Sat., May 13, 2017.
UFC 211 features the long-overdue rematch between UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and former division titleholder Junior dos Santos, who captured a split-decision win over Miocic at UFC on FOX 13 in late 2014.
In the UFC 211 co-main event, reigning strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk looks to keep her undefeated streak alive against top 115-pound contender Jessica Andrade, winner of three straight.

Round 1: Branch falling short with right hands early. Branch leg kick answered by a straight left that just misses. Branch times a Jotko knee and takes him down into guard a minute in. Short elbows and punches from Branch. Two minutes in. Jotko scoots his way to the fence and gets to a three-point stance. He gets to his feet and reverses position on the cage. Branch reverses in turn. Two minutes to go.
Good takedown by Jotko and a solid knee when Branch returns to his feet. Branch pressing him against the cage with a minute to go. Knee for Branch. 10-9 Branch.
Round 2: Jotko just misses with an uppercut. He ties up on the cage. Spinning elbow on the break glances off. Branch fires a body kick that hits groin. One minute in. Straight left lands for Jotko when they resume. Solid counter left, then another straight that appears to sting Branch. Jotko stuffs a takedown two minutes in. Blast double from Branch, can’t keep him down and Jotko pops him with a right as they separate. Two minutes to go.
Straight left lands for Jotko. Branch backs him to the cage and ties up. Jotko complains and the ref breaks them up after a few seconds. One minute to go. Glancing wheel kick from Jotko, Branch takes him down and Jotko pops back up with the whizzer. 10-9 Jotko.
Round 3: Branch fires a head kick. Straight right to the body. Both just whiff on rights. Jotko tries a head kick a minute in. Branch shoots, lands an uppercut as he separates. Straight left from Jotko, right hand by Branch. They clinch and Branch puts him on the cage with over-unders. Two minutes in. Jotko briefly reverses. Ref breaks them up forty seconds later. Jotko briefly ties up. Good left hook by Branch. Two minutes to go.
Blast double from Branch and he puts Jotko on his back. Jotko with a butterfly hook, loses it. Jotko works his way to his feet, avoiding a front headlock, and Branch holds him against the fence. One minute to go. Ref breaks them up with a minute to go. Good knee by Jotko and a right hook behind it. Jotko left, Branch right. Nice uppercut from Jotko and Branch puts him back on the fence. 10-9 Branch.

Low kick from Alvarez, body kick from Poirier. Two minutes in. Alvarez to the body, knocked back by a straight left and Poirier stuffs a takedown. Body kick again by Poirier. Two minutes to go.
Body shot again by Alvarez, right hook by Poirier inside. Overhand left from Poirier met by a body kick. Straight lefts land for Poirier, right hand lands for Alvarez and a left hook lands afterwards. One minute to go. Good right hand from Eddie inside, Poirier with a 2-3 in return. 10-9 Poirier.
Round 2: Looping right hand lands for Alvarez and he shoots. Poirier bearing down on a Marcelotine, can’t get it. One minute in. Jab lands for Poirier after they separate. Straight left. Alvarez tries a head kick, eats a short uppercut and straight left. Body kick. Two minutes in. Both land their power hands and a monstrous straight left takes out Alvarez’s legs. He wobbles back and Poirier just tearing into him. Alvarez throwing back, shoots and stuffed. Straight left and right hook. Again. Another huge left. Suddely, a right hand clips Poirier and now it’s Eddie on the attack. Two minutes to go.
Alvarez shoots and Poirier again locks up the Marcelotine. Alvarez manages to slip out. Straights from both. Alvarez shoots and scores a takedown on the fence. Poirier works his way up, puts a hand down, and Alvarez blasts him with a pair of illegal knees. Herb Dean only steps in after the second illegal one. This one is over.

145 lbs.: Jason Knight vs. Chas Skelly
Round 1: Counter right lands for Knight early on. Hard left hand for him as Skelly fades out. Leg kick connects. HUGE left hook from Skelly, Knight simply nods. Skelly fighting for a takedown a minute in, gets it. Knight sets up mission control. Two minutes in. Skelly moving towards an omoplata. Skelly defending well. Hard elbows from Knight off his back. Great scramble. Knight defending the takedown with two minutes to go.
Knight goes for a kimura, can’t get it. Skelly sets up the gogoplata, transitions to the omoplata and sweeps from there. Amazing scramble ensues and Knight waves him up after Skelly fails an armbar. Stiff jab from Skelly. Heavy counter right from Skelly and he ties up. Knight reverses on the fence and hits a takedown before the bell. Great fight so far. 10-9 Knight.
Round 2: Body kick from Knight. Skelly responds in kind. Knight catches a kick, doesn’t follow him down. Hard shots from both men. One minute in. Knight getting the better of these exchanges so far. He slips, nothing comes from it. Nice punches by Knight, who stuffs a takedown. Right hook by Knight and he stuffs a takedown. Left hook lands for Skelly and he shoots. Knight sprawls on it with two minutes to go.
Knight continues to defend and ultimately puts him in the fence. Hard elbow by Knight. Skelly threatens a guillotine and Knight takes him down into side control. One minute to go. They scramble and Knight locks up the rear crucifix. Skelly slips out and kicks him in the head as he stands, landing heavy punches before the bell. 10-9 Knight.
Round 3: Right hook from Knight and an uppercut knocks Skelly down. Knight follows him down and slams home punches until the referee steps in.

265 lbs.: Rashad Coulter vs. Chase Sherman
Round 1: Both men active in the early going, sending out punches. Coulter avoids a head kick, lands a right hand. Low kick from Sherman. One minute in. 1-2 by Sherman, overhand right by Coulter. More leg kicks by Sherman. Coulter’s showing some good hand speed. 1-2 from Sherman. More leg kicks from Sherman, right hand by Coulter. Two minutes in. Coulter’s feeling those low kicks, checks one and eats a left hand. Long right hand from Coulter, another thumping low kick comes back. Quick backfist from Sherman with two minutes to go.
Coulter cracks him with two quality right hands. Hard left hook, right hand inside. Another leg kick by Sherman. Coulter is not moving well at this point. Counter right lands for him. Another leg kick and Coulter’s limping. One minute to go. Again and Coulter looks like he’s had enough. Front kick by Sherman, nearly lands a head kick. Another leg kick before the bell. 10-9 Sherman.
Round 2: Solid right hand from Coulter, who gets blasted with a knee and walloped with more leg kicks. Sherman drops him in the clinch and works to pound out the fading Coulter. One minute to go. Coulter somehow works his way back to his feet, so Sherman lands knees to the body. Coulter swinging like mad. More leg kicks. BIG left hook crakcs Sherman. Coulter is absolutely going for it two minutes in. Sherman backs him to the fence and drills him with punches, eats one in return. Body kick. Rashad Coulter is doing everything he possibly can, eats a huge knee. Head kick by Sherman. Back elbow from Sherman, two big punches by Coulter. Sherman with a leg kick and more brutal punches. With both men exhausted, Sherman lines him up and crumples him with a savage elbow. What a fight.

155 lbs.: Marco Polo Reyes vs. James Vick
Round 1: Reyes on the advance, Vick circling. Leg kick from Reyes. Vick checks the next one. Leg kicks from Vick. One minute in. Mostly kicks thus far; neither has landed a clean punch. Straight right from Vick. Low kick by Reyes and a counter hook. Body shots by Reyes in the clinch. Vick with a spinning back kick, takes punches, then lamps Reyes with a right cross. Reyes covers up as the hammerfists come in and that’s another UFC finish for Vick.
Final result: Vick def. Reyes by TKO (punches)
115 lbs.: Jessica Aguilar vs. Cortney Casey
Round 1: Casey looks two weight classes bigger than Aguilar, but gets knocked down by a leg kick. Aguilar pounding away in guard, avoids a triangle and a leglock attempt. Leg kicks by “Jag.” Casey catches one and gets to her feet, unloading with punches. One minute in. Casey active, not landing at the moment. Low kick connects. She flurries and lands a knee to the body, which Aguilar uses to take her down. Two minutes in. Casey keeping her at bay with her legs. Aguilar literally drags Casey away from the fence. Casey looking for upkicks, lands one to the shin. Aguilar comes down into guard. Two minutes to go.
Ref doesn’t like the amount of action and stands them up. Aguilar flurries back into the clinch, Casey shrugs it off and lands a hard leg kick. One minute to go. More flurries by Casey. Hard knee inside, Aguilar comes back with a right hand. Casey head kick just blocked. Close round. Right at the bell, however, Aguilar drops her with a counter right. Looks like it was right after the horn. 10-9 Aguilar.
Round 2: Casey catches her leaning with a brutal knee to the head, but gets taken down anyway. Casey looking for upkicks. Casey landing some Ali-Inoki kicks to the knees. One minute in. Ref separates them. Good right hand by Casey inside. Aguilar flurries two minutes in. Casey with one in return. Hard right hands. Casey turns her into the fence and lands to the body. Two minutes to go.
Aguilar catches a kick for another takedown, again stands over her and eats upkicks. More nice upkicks. One minute to go. Casey looks for a leg, eats some punches. Aguilar stays on top until the bell. 10-9 Casey.
Round 3: Casey just overpowering her on the feet, landing solid flurries. Overhand right lands for Aguilar in return. Casey denies a level change and separates a minute in. Casey continuing to do damage. Aguilar’s mouth and nose are pouring blood. Two minutes in. Casey landing knees on the fence. Aguilar lands a few, eats another brutal flurry for her trouble. Good knee by Casey as she denies another takedown. Two minutes to go.
Aguilar hits a single-leg thirty seconds later, Casey pops back up. Aguilar ties up on the fence, gets reversed with a minute to go. They separate. Right hand by Aguilar, then another. Aguilar lands well in the last seconds. 10-9 Casey.

145 lbs.: Enrique Barzola vs. Gabriel Benitez
Round 1: Good left hand and body kick from Benitez to start things off. Cracking low kick by “Moggly.” Snapping left hand stings Barzola, who looks for a head kick. One minute in. Benitez lands a good body kick, but gets slammed for his trouble. Barzola on top in guard. Benitez swings his legs up and scrambles his way back to the feet. Two minutes in. Well-timed shot by Barzola, Benitez scrambles right back up. They separate. More left hands by Benitez after blocking a head kick. Straight left counters a low kick. Two minutes to go.
Barzola eats a body shot, hits a nice takedown and looks for the back. Benitez makes it up and breaks his grip. Left hook lands for Barzola. Body kick from Benitez. Straight left. One minute to go. Another straight left dings up Barzola’s nose. Counter right lands for Barzola, who flurries and hits another slam in the last few seconds. 10-9 Benitez.
Round 2: Benitez goes back to the body kick. Head kick blocked. Barzola shoots in behind a flurry for yet another slam into guard. Barzola lands some quick ground-and-pound before Benitez scrambles up a minute in. They separate. Benitez to the body. Barzola shoots in and carries Benitez away from the fence for the next takedown. Two minutes in and he moves into half guard. Benitez scrambles up, avoids a guillotine, and denies a takedown. Hard leg kick from Benitez. Another takedown by Barzola. Two minutes to go.
Barzola attached to the waist. They separate. Knee from Benitez lands to the body. Body kick by Barzola and he takes Benitez down once again. Benitez back up with a minute to go. Round 3: Quick hug to start the round. Barzola looking much more aggressive, eats a body kick. Benitez slips, pops up, eats a right hand and gets dumped into half guard. Solid ground-and-pound by Barzola, who takes the back when Benitez tries to stands. One minute in. Benitez goes to his knees and leaves his chin open, allowing Barzola to cinch up the choke. He manages to break Barzola’s grip and scramble two his feet a little under two minutes in. Good lefts by Benitez. Overhand right by Barzola. Benitez denies a level change against the fence and lands a 1-2. Benitez looking for the head kick, stops another takedown. Right hand by Barzola with two minutes to go.
Now Barzola’s fading but he waves Benitez on. Benitez stops another takedown. Barzola gets in deeper on the fence and scores a takedown into guard. Benitez scrambles up with a minute to go. Knee from Barzola and they trade punches. Benitez body kick, Barzola overhand right. BIG straight left drops Barzola right at the bell. 10-9 Barzola.

205 lbs.: Joachim Christensen vs. Gadzhimurad Antigulov
Round 1: Antigulov flurries, landing a hard left hand, and shoots in for a single-leg. Christensen looking to take the back. Antigulov snuffs it out and looks for the rear waistlock. One minute in. Antigulov inserts one hook, then the other. A little low on the back. He adjusts himself and goes to work looking for the choke. Two minutes in. It’s not long before he locks it up and draws the tap.
Final result: Antigulov def. Christensen by submission (rear naked choke)
