Ray Borg isn’t happy T.J. Dillashaw might be getting the next UFC flyweight title shot because there are very few options in the division right now.
Demetrious Johnson vs. T.J. Dillashaw is in the works for this summer, and a fighter who was being considered for the next UFC flyweight title shot isn’t too happy about that.
After ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported the news Tuesday evening, Ray Borg expressed his thoughts on possibly being passed over for the next crack at longtime 125-pound champ “Mighty Mouse” on Twitter.
Borg would have liked to fight for the belt next, of course, but he said the biggest reason he’s annoyed is there’s very few fighters in the division for him to fight, especially with Sergio Pettis vs. Brandon Moreno recently being booked.
@tmillski93 Ya but who does that leave me with? I wouldn’t mind so much if they didn’t book the only other two guys that make sense

@Dreamvillian12 @arielhelwani “Dawg” why do you think I am heated, cejudo and benivedez are injured and Pettis and Moreno are booked.

@MMAndBullShit That’s the shit part the only other two fights I want, they booked them together

@WorkingBrother @MMAjunkieJohn I ain’t bitching about not getting DJ I’m bitching about not getting anyone.

@WorkingBrother @MMAjunkieJohn Lol never been a victim in my life, not even sad about TJ and DJ I’ll get it, but you tell me who is left to fight.

Hours after the above tweets were sent out, Borg sent out a statement on Twitter saying the only fight besides Johnson he’s interested in is Wilson Reis, who lost to the champ last month.
“I would prefer DJ but if not I am fine with Wilson because that is literally the only available fight that makes sense,” Borg wrote.
According to reports, “The Tazmexican Devil” was being considered for Johnson’s next title defense in August. But now, the UFC’s main interest is pitting the flyweight champ against Dillashaw, a former bantamweight titleholder.
Borg (11-2) has won two in a row and is ranked No. 3 in the official UFC flyweight standings. Most recently, he defeated Jussier Formiga in the biggest fight of his career. Prior to that, last December, he beat Louis Smolka by decision at UFC 207.
