McGregor’s coach puts up Mayweather KO mural in gym to ‘aid in the visualization of success’

Straight Blast Gym coach John Kavanagh has an artistic way of motivating his most prized fighter.

Conor McGregor is a known practitioner of visualization. He has done the process multiple times in the past through his pre-fight predictions, which, credit to him, do come true.

“Mystic Mac” and his team decided to take it up a few notches higher in preparation for the Floyd Mayweather superfight on August 26th. Head coach John Kavanagh decided to have the visualization process painted on the wall of the Straight Blast Gym in Dublin through a mural depicting how they see the fight happening.

The artwork was done by Subset, a multi-disciplinary artist collective based in Dublin. In a statement the company sent to Yahoo! Sports, they completed the mural on Sunday night, right after McGregor ended his training session, and got it done the next day.

We, SUBSET, are a Multidisciplinary Artist Collective with interests ranging from Art, Marketing, Music and Film to Finance, Hospitality and Clothing. We have a great relationship with John Kavanagh and he graciously provided us with the opportunity of producing the artwork which is now the backdrop for Conor’s preparations.

The artwork is a gift from John which will aid Conor with the visualization of his success. As it was a surprise we were required to produce it once he finished a training session on Sunday evening and before he began another training session on Monday night. We filmed his arrival and reaction to the artwork and we are currently in the process of making a short video using the footage. This will be posted online in the coming days – https://www.instagram.com/subsetdublin/.
