Jim Ross says Ronda Rousey and WWE are ‘a match made in heaven’

Legendary pro wrestling commentator Jim Ross expects former UFC champ Ronda Rousey to make the jump to pro wrestling sometime in the future.

A longtime WWE commentator thinks Ronda Rousey would be a good fit for the pro wrestling organization.

Jim Ross, also a WWE Hall of Famer, expects Rousey to officially make the jump from mixed martial arts to pro wrestling sooner than later. He believes a move to WWE makes all the sense in the world for both Rousey and the company and is simply destined to happen.

“It’s too great an opportunity for her to pass up and WWE to pass up. It’s a match made in heaven,” Ross told TMZ this week. “She’s gonna be a big star. It’s inevitable. I see her in a WrestleMania someday.”

Ross is talking Rousey right now due to a recent angle she was involved in with her friend Shayna Baszler, who is competing in the WWE-produced Mae Young Classic. Rousey, along with fellow Four Horsewomen Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir, were ringside for Baszler’s matches and got into a verbal jousting session with WWE stars Bayley, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch. This has led to peculation that Rousey will be a part of a much bigger angle with the organization going forward.

Rousey has made one legitimate WWE appearance in the past. In March 2015, she was involved in a brief angle with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at a WrestleMania event. Since then, fans have speculated whether Rousey would ever join WWE full time.

Rousey is one of the best female fighters ever and defended the UFC women’s bantamweight title six times from 2013 to 2015. She lost the belt by knockout to Holly Holm in one of the biggest upsets of all-time in late 2015, and returned to the cage in December 2016 but lost to champ Amanda Nunes in less than a minute.

It seems unlikely Rousey will ever fight again, leaving the door open for a pro wrestling career.
