Floyd Mayweather Sr. plans to take legal action if Conor McGregor employs some dirty tactics on fight night.
Conor McGregor has been contractually prohibited to throw any other strike except for a punch when he faces Floyd Mayweather Jr. on August 26th. Mayweather even says that the Irishman could lose up to 90 percent of his money if he does anything outside of boxing’s Queensberry rules.
Floyd Sr., on the other hand, has other plans. If McGregor does play dirty, the elder Mayweather is planning to take things beyond the boxing ring and possibly into the courtroom.
“It’s gonna stop right there,” Floyd Sr. said on The Herd with Colin Cowherd. “And guess what? Then we’re gonna throw a big suit at him.”
“There’s enough people around here suing everybody for nothing, and this is something that you can be screwed for.”
At 40 years of age, Mayweather Jr. has once again subjected himself to the hard training for a high-profile 12-round fight. However, Floyd Sr. says his son is not grinding himself out as much as he did in the past.
“Like I said many times before, Floyd is better. But I’m saying here now, he’s training good enough for a guy like this.”
“Conor, first of all, showed the whole world his egg, and I think you know what I’m talking about” Floyd Sr. continued. “And guess what, it ain’t nothing.”
Mayweather vs. McGregor is slated to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
