Now that UFC 217 is in the books (full results here), Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is gearing up for its next pay-per-view (PPV) offering, which is little more than two weeks away.
And it’s a good one.
UFC 218: “Holloway vs Aldo 2” takes place inside Little Cesar’s Arena in Detroit, Mich., on Sat., Dec. 2, 2017, featuring a Featherweight title fight rematch between current division champion, Max Holloway, defending his belt against the very man he took it away from at UFC 212, Jose Aldo.
It’s a fight that came to be after Frankie Edgar — who was set to challenge “Blessed” — suffered an injury, paving the way for Aldo to try and reclaim his strap.
Meanwhile in UFC 218’s co-main event, Francis Ngannou and Alistair Overeem will collide in a hard-hitting Heavyweight affair that could provide the next contender for Stipe Miocic’s 265-pound title. And if that weren’t enough, Eddie Alvarez will take on Justin Gaethje in a Lightweight bout that has “Fight of the Night” written all over it.
