It’s just one day until newly-crowned featherweight champion Max Holloway will defend his title against Jose Aldo, and the two fighters squared off on Thursday at the UFC 218 media day in Detroit, Michigan.

Holloway was originally scheduled to defend the 145-pound strap against former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar, but ‘The Answer’ was forced to withdraw last month due to injury. Aldo, the former two-time featherweight champ, was selected as Edgar’s replacement out of several possible opponents.

‘Blessed’ fought and beat Aldo back in June, finishing the Brazilian with a barrage of ground and pound at UFC 212 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Aldo looked to have won the first two rounds, beating Holloway to the punch in most of the exchanges, but the Hawaiian took over in the third round and overwhelmed ‘Scarface’ with pressure boxing and ground control.

The championship rematch takes place tomorrow night, Dec. 2 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan for UFC 218. The pay-per-view also features an exciting co-headlining heavyweight bout between Alistair Overeem and Francis Ngannou, as well an explosive lightweight match-up between Eddie Alvarez and Justin Gaethje.
