Daniel Cormier has been known as a fighter who is driven by emotion. It was especially evident right after his third-round knockout loss to Jon Jones at UFC 214 when he was unable to hold back his tears in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.

As quite expected, it did not take long for the people of the internet to poke fun at Cormier’s crying face through several memes and posts.

DC has since been reinstated as the UFC light heavyweight champion when Jones tested positive for Turinabol, and their fight was overturned to a no contest. And in a recent Instagram post, he was finally able to respond to the crying memes that were created five months ago.

People putting the photo of me crying don’t realize it’s ok lol. I been doing this crying since I was a kid lol. Here’s another one for y’all this is me crying on the awards stand at the junior nationals after losing in the finals. What can I say. I hate losing. #memories#longasscareer #lifeatthetop#20yearshighestlevel

Cormier’s first title defense as reinstated champion will be against Volkan Oezdemir, and it is scheduled to co-headline UFC 220 on January 20th in Boston.
