Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has assembled a slam-bang welterweight main event for its upcoming UFC Fight Night 126 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1, according to MMA Fighting, for Sat., Feb. 18, 2017 inside Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas.
Donald Cerrone vs. Yancy Medeiros.
Cerrone (32-10, 1 NC) was expected to return to the lightweight division — and reduce his fight frequency — after dropping three straight fights in which he was finished twice. “Cowboy” was last seen getting turned inside out by Darren Till at UFC Gdansk.
Probably got an offer he couldn’t refuse.
Medeiros (15-4, 1 NC), meanwhile, captured three in a row — all finishes — to maintain his place in the official UFC rankings (see them here). “The Kid” is fresh off a first-round stoppage over Alex Oliveira at UFC 218.
