Hey, at least he didn’t step on a butterfly.

Undefeated boxing icon Floyd Mayweather Jr., for reasons not quite ascertained, decided to troll former opponent Conor McGregor on a breezy Wednesday morning, completely out of the blue.

And he had to go back in time to do it.

Mayweather’s tweet referenced McGregor’s dust-up with the Kinahan cartel, a result of his alleged assault on the father of a well-known gangland figure in Dublin, Ireland. This was pretty big news back in November.

Then again,, so was Thanksgiving.

Mayweather was teasing a transition to mixed martial arts (MMA) in 2018, but then backed off the “billion-dollar comeback” a few weeks later. He’s currently helping UFC President Dana White get his boxing company off the ground.

As for McGregor, he’s remained on the sidelines after falling to “Money” by way of technical knockout last August and may return to cage fighting without his 155-pound strap, unless he can make this deadline.

In other news, Trump is running for President.
