Nice to see some local flavor getting that shine.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight titleholder Fabricio Werdum has been tapped to headline the upcoming UFC Fight Night 127 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on UFC Fight Pass, taking place Sat., March 17, 2018 inside O2 Arena in London, England.
That’s where he’ll face streaking heavyweight bruiser Alexander Volkov.
Werdum (23-7-1) is trying to work his way back up to a heavyweight title fight since Stipe Miocic stripped him of the strap back in May 2016. Since then, “Vai Cavalo” has compiled a 3-1 record against ho-hum competition.
Let’s hope he leaves his boomerang at home.
Volkov (29-6) is the winner of five straight, including last September’s technical knockout win over Stefan Struve. Still just 29, “Drago” is 11 years younger than his Brazilian counterpart.
Three of his six losses came under the Bellator MMA banner.
UFC Fight Night 127, which was expected to feature the retirement fight of Michael Bisping, will also showcase the light heavyweight rematch between Jan Blachowicz and Jimi Manuwa, while Kajan Johnson and Rustam Khabilov collide in lightweight action.
Fun!
