Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight
Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Kevin Lee thinks Conor McGregor will knock out Khabib Nurmagomedov if they ever fight- and that this will give everyone the impression McGregor is better than he is. The prediction, for Lee, is based more on Nurmagomedov’s shortcomings than Conor’s strengths.
Yeah, I think Conor would get him, and it would blow people’s minds, and it would blow people’s minds, and it would blow him out of proportion, they would think Conor’s just some f—ing magical god or some whatever, because people are stupid anyway. But, in the real of what it is, Khabib is very hittable. He has a lot of holes in his game, and he doesn’t seem to be patching those holes. You know what I mean? He doesn’t fight very often, you barely get to see him, but the same Khabib that showed up against Edson was the same one that showed up against RDA like six years ago. There’s just no evolution in the man’s game, so… if they were to fight, honestly, I would probably lean towards McGregor. But first, Khabib has to get through Tony.
One could make the counter-argument that Khabib dominated both of those fights easily, so why change what isn’t broken, but he is hardly the first to note that Khabib does seem hittable as he moves forward. Lee isn’t so certain about the outcome of Khabib vs. Tony Ferguson at UFC 223, but he’s picking Ferguson due to Ferguson’s cardio and pace into the later rounds.
I’ve been going back and forth on it a little bit, but I’m still pushing the Tony side. I just think Tony’s gonna be a little too much for him. He just does a lot of weird stuff in there. You think you’ve got him, you think that he’s hurt because of the way he moves, and the way he absorbs some of these punches, but he does a good job rolling with em, keep moving forward. I think he’s gonna put the intensity, I think he’s gonna wear Khabib out. I don’t think Khabib can keep that pace, I don’t think Khabib’s ever been five rounds before, and I think Tony can keep it going and keep it pushing and win that mental battle too.
You can watch Lee’s full critique of Khabib’s strengths, as well as his prediction for his own upcoming fight with Khabib’s last opponent, Edson Barboza, below:

Max Holloway’s subtweet game is, as they say, on another level.
One more update @arielhelwani. After I was pulled from 222, I offered to amputate my leg and fight for a 115lb belt against DJ. It was very very close. Plans were in place. But I was told there wasn’t enough time.
Stay blessed,

Dana White says there’s a very good chance Brock Lesnar fights again… although it probably won’t be against Jon Jones anytime soon.

After this performance? Who can blame her. Jones’ team, despite their confidence beforehand, didn’t exactly come through for him.
Jon Jones claims he unintentionally took Turinabol. He doesn’t know where it came from.
His expert witness said based on stuff he read on a bodybuilding website, Jon probably didn’t take it deliberately.
That’s his defence.
I’m not joking.

They are now questioning anti-doping expert Paul Scott, who infamously showed up to Anderson Silva’s NSAC hearing with no documents, no findings, and when asked where they were, said “on my computer.” Lol. I will never forget that.

In case you wanted a quick summary of the consequences from today’s CSAC hearing:
Correction: He can reapply in August 2018, but again, CSAC won’t accept an application until his USADA hearing is complete and he serves whatever punishment USADA gives him. That could very well go past Aug. 2018. Unclear what USADA will give him at this time.
