Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight
Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Meisha Tate gave vent recently to feelings many Jon Jones fans could surely relate to: disillusionment. She felt that she had just been on the Jon Jones rollercoaster too long, and had decided to check out.
I’ve heard this story one, two, three, four, five times already, so unless he shows me something different than just saying ‘I’m a changed man,’ he’s got to do a lot more to gain me back as a fan and to care to see him compete again. I just don’t want to be let down again.”
Jon Jones responded today on Twitter.
@MeishaTate I don’t quite when things get tough for me, I get stronger. You just wait and see, maybe you’ll even find motivation in it. Sucks I lost you as a fan. Enjoy retirement sister.

What I can’t decide is if this is shady on Jon Jones’ part or not. Is Jones implying that Meisha, who retired after a loss at UFC 205 and is now expecting her first child, quit when things got tough for her? Or is he simply expressing respectful regret that he lost her as a fan?
Regardless, what is clear is that Jon Jones still wishes to be seen as a role model and an inspiration in some way. But with the shoddy defense his team came up with, his destiny isn’t really in his hands- it’s down to the punishment USADA sees fit to mete out.

Ramon Dekkers was a legend, and his countryman Alastair Overeem honored him on the fifth anniversary of his passing yesterday
Speaking of Overeem, does he have a fight lining up?

Chris Weidman calls out Lebron James because he’s been training with Enes Kanter. Might need to do a little more work than that first.
Hey @KingJames , I’ve been training my guy @Enes_Kanter . Best think twice before messing with the Orange and Blue again. #newyorkforever pic.twitter.com/Rm3h1p5ELk

Jim Miller has his next fight lined up, which will equal Michael Bisping’s record for most UFC fights ever. Dustin Poirier, a former opponent, has nothing but respect for that.

Jordan Breen with the trip down memory lane for all you Pride fans.
Alright. I’ll pull the trump card, just cause the Terminator theme is my head. The best piece of MMA hype footage ever. Nothing has ever, EVER even been close for what was the biggest fight in the sport’s history at the time. https://t.co/c0idvJfoMw

Agreed. This deserves an extended, humiliating beating.

UFC anti-trust fodder.
Possible #UFC case hot doc. Purported Mike Mersch e-mail to a Mark Hunt rep actually saying “so he will never see the end of his contract.” Expert contract analysis matters most & Joe Silva denies that’s how he’d put it (below), but man that was a dumb thing to allegedly write. pic.twitter.com/PpRjM3MqgI

Brian Ortega would be proud.
This is old but worth the repost because I’ve never seen anything quite like this in a street fight.
