Andrei Arlovski will finally get to fight in his adopted hometown.
Andrei Arlovski will finally get to fight in front of his hometown Chicago fans. After 19 years and 43 fights, the former UFC heavyweight champion will enter the Octagon in The Windy City at UFC 225 to fight Australian Tai Tuivasa.
MMA Fighting confirmed the news earlier today.
Arlovski (27-15, 1 NC, 16-9 UFC) is currently riding a two-fight winning streak, with the last coming via decision over Stefan Struve at UFC 222 earlier this month. In that bout, he completed more takedowns than he had in all of his other UFC fights combined to that point.
Tuivasa (7-0, 2-0 UFC) has picked up KO/TKO wins over Rashad Coulter and Cyril Asker in his first two UFC appearances. He won a performance bonus for the Coulter win, which came by flying knee.
UFC 225 goes down on June 9th in the United Center, and will play host to a middleweight championship fight between Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero. CM Punk will also be competing on the card in his hometown.
