UFC 223 full fight video highlights: Namajunas vs. Jedrzejczyk

Check out the full fight video highlights of the UFC 223 co-main event between Rose Namajunas and Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

It took the full 25 minutes this time around, but the outcome was the same: Rose Namajunas beating Joanna Jedrzejczyk. While the first fight saw Rose win the women’s strawweight title from Jedrzejczyk, the rematch marked Rose’s first defense of her belt. Namajunas got off to a strong start, showcasing her powerful punching and quickness, but Jedrzejczyk came back with a steady diet of leg kicks to hamper the champion’s movement. In the final round, Namajunas found a second wind and repeatedly tagged Joanna with heavy shots, then took her down in the closing stages. It was a closer fight than the 49-46 scorecards suggested, and it was thoroughly enjoyable to watch.

Round 5 – Inside and outside leg kicks from Joanna. Hard left hook from Rose! Straight right from Namajunas. She’s turning it back up. Joanna with a hard knee. They’re brawling a bit. Namajunas lands a right on the nose. Joanna with an ultra-quick left to the jaw. Step-in elbow from Rose, but Joanna cracks her with a right. Joanna’s nose and eye are messed up. Lead uppercut from Namajunas. INside leg kick from Joanna. Joanna with a straight right, Rose with a right hook. Jedrzejczyk jabbing. Hard right from Joanna, and combination. They both throw front kicks. They both connect with hard rights. Jab from Jedrzejczyk. Joanna misses with a head kick but lands a knee. Namajunas with a takedown with 20 seconds to go. They trade punches on the ground. Man, that’s tough. I’m going to go 10-9 Jedrzejczyk and 48-47 Jedrzejczyk.
