Medeiros (15-5, 1NC) is coming into a fight with Perry on the back of a first round TKO loss to Donald Cerrone in the main event of UFC Fight Night 126. The exciting Hawaiian has excelled at 170-pounds since making the move up from lightweight, picking up three straight wins before his loss to Cerrone, one of which was a win over Alex Oliveira in a fight that was a candidate for 2017’s Fight of the Year.
Perry (11-3) is currently on a two-fight losing streak, dropping unanimous decisions to both Max Perry and Santiago Ponzinibbio. Before these losses, “Platinum” picked up knockout victories over Alex Reyes and Jake Ellenberger, both of which earned him $50,000 bonuses.
UFC 226 will take place on July 7th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between current champion Stipe Miocic, and UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.
