Edson Barboza’s mangled face is going to take some time to heal, and he needs some CT scans according to the New Jersey commission.
While it definitely had its moments, the UFC’s trip to Atlantic City didn’t come across as an overly violent card overall. Six of the eleven fights went to decision, and some of them were pretty dull. But as mentioned, there were a few brutal segments – particularly at the hands of Siyar Bahadurzada, Dan Hooker, and the main event combatants.
The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board saw things a little differently though, handing out a bunch of indefinite medical suspensions that require fighters to be cleared by a doctor before they can get back to training. A total of 10 fighters were tagged with indefinite terms, including Edson Barboza, whose facial injuries led to the end of his fight with Kevin Lee. 18 of the night’s 22 fighters received some sort of suspension from the commission.

Edson Barboza: Suspended indefinitely pending CT scan of head and facial bones; minimum suspension of 60 days no contest, 30 days no contact due to TKO and facial lacerations
Justin Willis: Suspended indefinitely pending x-rays of ribs and right hip/groin; minimum suspension of 30 days
David Branch: Suspended indefinitely pending x-rays of lower left leg
Brett Johns: Suspended indefinitely pending neurological exam; minimum suspension of 45 days
Aljamain Sterling: Suspended indefinitely pending X-rays of left ankle/foot
Jim Miller: Suspended indefinitely pending CT scan of head and orbital bones; minimum suspension of 60 days no contest, 21 days no contact due to KO loss
Ryan LaFlare: Suspended indefinitely pending X-rays of left knee and left elbow; minimum suspension of 14 days no contact
Siyar Bahadurzada: Suspended indefinitely pending X-rays of right hand and right ribs
Luan Chagas: Suspended indefinitely pending CT scan of head and abdomen, plus neurological exam; minimum suspension of 60 days no contest, 21 days no contact due to KO loss
Patrick Cummins: Suspended indefinitely pending CT scan of head and abdomen; minimum suspension of 60 days due to right eye laceration
Thiago Santos: Suspended 60 days no contest, 21 days no contact due to KO loss
Keita Nakamura: Suspended 45 days due to eyelid laceration
Kevin Lee: Suspended 30 days no contact
Chase Sherman: Suspended 30 days
Ricky Simon: Suspended 30 days
Merab Dvalishvili: Suspended 30 days no contest, 15 days no contact
