Two more of Ronda Rousey’s friends have officially joined her to embark on pro wrestling careers.

About 10 months ago, the WWE teased an angle involving Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, and the other two members of the Four Horsewomen – Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir. Today, Duke and Shafir officially joined the ranks of the WWE roster alongside Rousey and Baszler.

The WWE has announced that Duke and Shafir have neen signed and will report to their Performance Center for training

Duke fought four times in the UFC, going 1-3. She was released in 2015 and signed with Invicta, where she dropped both of her bouts there. Shafir had a sparkling amateur MMA career with five straight first-round submission victories, but didn’t fare as well as a professional. She went 1-2, and was stopped inside a minute in the two losses. It should also be noted that Shafir is engaged to NXT star Roderick Strong, and is frequently in attendance at NXT events.

Rousey is currently working on WWE’s Raw roster where she is a very prominent character. Baszler recently claimed for the NXT women’s title, and has been pushed hard by the company since making the finals of the Mae Young Classic last year.

It was that series of events that the WWE used to tease the angle involving the four. While Baszler was competing in the tournament, the other three Horsewomen were in attendance cheering her on. On two separate occasions, they faced down members of the pro wrestling Four Horsewomen – Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Sasha Banks.

It’s obvious that the pro wrestling promotion badly wants to go down this road, so them signing Duke and Shafir makes complete sense. Pro wrestling fans might not be a fan of two ladies with little experience jumping the line of sorts, but it’s definitely not unheard of for that to happen. For example, one of the top female workers in WWE, Alexa Bliss, had no wrestling experience at all when she started. And look what she has done in just five years.
