UFC announcer Jon Anik took to the internet to register his dismay at Bisping’s behavior.
Love him or hate him, Colby Covington has cemented his place as the most controversial fighter in UFC history since Chael Sonnen. And just like Chael, the dislike for him rises up past the fans into the ranks of his fellow UFC athletes. That was on full display after his win against Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 225 when Michael Bisping tore a strip out of him on the FOX Sports post-fight show. Watch it here:

It was an interesting moment, because when was the last time you’ve seen a freshly minted champion get dragged by the hosts of a sports show moments after his big win? The UFC is already rather unique in that they produce a ton of their own content. That usually leads to less critical coverage of the sport and its stars, but not when it comes to Colby Covington. Especially when fellow trash talking GOAT Michael Bisping is on the team.
One person that pointed out the lack of professionalism on display was fellow UFC employee Jon Anik, who came to Covington’s defense (or at least to the defense of broadcast journalism standards).
Was disgraceful. It’s Colby’s night and moment. Pretty stunning that they’d allow an analyst to steal his shine.

Not sarcastic at all. I was appalled. Not the analyst’s job to antagonize a fighter who has just won a UFC title.

Respect your opinion but please don’t tell me what to do or think. I’ve been in broadcasting for 16 years and I know what I saw.

There’s some truth there. Guess I’m just still old school when it comes to certain TV elements. Probably should’ve kept my mouth closed.

What do you think, Maniacs? Did Michael Bisping take it too far, or was this just the inevitable result when you put two of the biggest blowhards together on TV?
