Former Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman, Greg Hardy, will make his pro mixed martial arts (MMA) debut against fellow gridiron veteran Austen Lane on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series later this evening (June 12, 2018) inside The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) gym in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Until he loses and fades quietly into the background, Hardy will continue to draw headlines as a result of his checkered past, along with White’s controversial decision to give him a televised platform for his combat sports career.
“I can’t worry about what he’s done in the past,” Lane told MMA Fighting. “All that matters is what he brings in his skill set, and that’s all that I’m focused on. He’s a well-known figure, and there are a lot of people who aren’t fans of his. So naturally if you don’t like somebody, you’re going to cheer for the other person. Good, bad, or indifferent, I’m the other person. If I can gain more fans or more notoriety for this, so be it.”

Tonight’s live “Contender Series,” headlined by a light heavyweight showdown between Dashawn “Buck” Boatwright (3-0) and Alonzo Menifield (6-0), airs at 8 p.m. ET on UFC Fight Pass.
