Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Bruce Buffer doesn’t announce him as a “featherweight” for nothing. Ranked 145-lb. UFC fighter Calvin Kattar getting adopted, by a random robin that started following him, is the best story in MMA currently. Kattar, whose recent loss to Renato Moicano broke a 10-fight winning streak, wasn’t looking for a new friend, but the juvenile robin, whom he promptly christened ‘Robin’, made up his mind that this human was his buddy. (or her buddy, I don’t know my robin etymology that well) Calvin quickly came to the conclusion that he and the robin were friends.

The story, compiled from his Instagram account by MMA Mad, is the kind of heartwarming montage Pixar films are made of. He gets the robin to hop on his hand, then his head. The robin poops on him… multiple times. He introduces the robin to his friends, and at the end has bought a roost for it. Just like the raccoon who climbed a skyscraper recently, it’s an uplifting story that we surely can use in the year 2018 AD.

Meanwhile, another former light heavyweight, Lyoto Machida, surprised everyone with a multi-fight deal with Bellator. Bellator middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi has been bitter about the loss to Machida since it happened.
