Denys Berinchyk is a talented lightweight boxing prospect, and he also aims to entertain before he even enters the ring.
Denys Berinchyk was part of Ukraine’s outstanding 2012 Olympic boxing team, winning a silver medal in the 64 kg division, while teammates Oleksandr Usyk and Vasyl Lomachenko captured gold medals.
The 30-year-old turned professional in 2015, and he’s started out 9-0 with 6 wins coming by stoppage. Berinchyk may be one to watch as a future contender in the 135-pound division, if not just for his skills in the ring, but for his crazy ring walks.
In Saturday’s win over Jose Luis Prieto, Berinchyk made a grand entrance while riding on a horse, channeling his inner Jorge Arce.
By Berinchyk’s standards, this really isn’t his best work. He once walked out while in handcuffs and surrounded by guards, rode in on a motorcycle, and even dressed as the bear mascot from the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. Seriously.
