Derrick Lewis has no interest in going to Russia to fight Alexander Volkov, but he’ll do it in the USA.

Alexander Volkov is a top-five contender at heavyweight, and he’s looking to move himself closer to a title shot. So, like many UFC fighters, he decided that calling out a fellow highly-ranked fighter on social media was the best way to go about it.

But I don’t think he expected the response that he got from Derrick Lewis.

Volkov is interested in a UFC Moscow fight with Lewis on on September 15. So he respectfully asked for it:

Lewis was having nothing to do with going to Moscow though:

Volkov (30-6, 4-0 UFC) is coming a big KO victory over former champion Fabricio Werdum. With new champion Daniel Cormier apparently tied to a heavyweight title fight with the returning Brock Lesnar next, he later took a look at the rest of the guys above him – and Lewis seemed like the only real option:

Lewis (20-5, 1 NC, 11-3 UFC) is coming off an extremely dull win over Francis Ngannou. He is currently ranked as the number two contender at heavyweight, and might not be interested in fighting down at the moment. But if the fight is going to take place, it looks like it definitely won’t be in Russia.
