Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently tied a ribbon around its UFC on FOX 30: “Alvarez vs. Poirier 2” mixed martial arts (MMA) event, which took place last Saturday night (July 28, 2018) inside Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
UFC on FOX 30 was headlined by the highly-anticipated rematch between top-ranked lightweight contenders Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier, with “The Underground King” getting polished by “The Diamond” by way of second-round violence.
In the Calgary co-main event, former 145-pound champion Jose Aldo got back into the win column by folding featherweight smashing machine Jeremy Stephens. In addition, ex-strawweight titleholder Joanna Jedrzejczyk returned to her winning ways by turning away Tecia Torres.
All in all, it was a meaningful night of fights.
