Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will return to mainland China this year. Following 2017’s event in Shanghai, the world’s leading mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion is now heading to Beijing for a fight card on Nov. 24 on UFC Fight Pass.
UFC Fight Night 141 is set for Cadillac Arena. The organization has several Chinese fighters on the roster, including Li Jingliang, Song Yadong, Yan Xiaonan, Song Kenan, Pingyuan Liu and Weili Zhang (who won at UFC 227 this past weekend).
“China is the next frontier for the growth of UFC and the sport of mixed martial arts, and this market is paramount to our success internationally,” UFC Vice President of Asia-Pacific Kevin Chang said.
“We are excited to bring our next live event to China’s capital and show the world just how far we have come. Our loyal fans in China demand nothing but the best, and one year on since our debut in Shanghai, UFC Fight Night: ‘Beijing’ Presented by General Tire, is set to be a night to remember.”
This will be UFC’s second event in Asia this year following one from the Singapore card in June. The promotion’s first show in China took place at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai in Nov. 2017 and was headlined by a middleweight fight between Michael Bisping and Kelvin Gastelum.
