Check out what happened at Dana White’s Contender Series 16, where former NFL player Greg Hardy blitzed Tebaris Gordon in just seventeen seconds.

The eighth week of the 2018 season of Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series has just capped off with Greg Hardy blitzing Tebaris Gordon with strikes to achieve the TKO in a sporty 17 seconds. Before that, Devonte Smith dropped some mean elbows on Joseph Lowry to earn a first round TKO. In his second appearance on the Contenders Series, Kennedy Nzechukwu made short work of Dennis Bryant, dropping his opponent with a head kick and then finishing him off with ground strikes in less than two minutes. Bobby Moffett had his way on the ground with Jacob Kilburn, ultimately achieving a second round D’arce. Opening up the show, Alex Gilpin weathered the early storm that was JR Coughran to realize a second round D’arce. At the end of the show, Dana White awarded contracts to Bobby Moffett, Kennedy Nzechukwu, and Devonte Smith.

Greg Hardy def Tebaris Gordon by TKO at :17 of round 1: Heavyweight

Hardy came out full-force throwing punches in bunches. Heavy right hands landed over and over again, plus a sinister knee to the gut landed somewhere in the blitz. Gordon dropped down to the canvas and Hardy dropped a hammerfist before the referee stepped in. Eek!

Devonte Smith def. Joseph Lowry by TKO at 2:52 of round 1: Lightweight

Both men looked to measure and feel out the out to start the bout. Smith started pumping his jab, which pierced the guard of Lowry several times. Lowry shot in for a takedown up against the cage, but about seven clean ‘Travis Browne’ elbows from Smith brought an abrupt ending to the fight. Yikes!

Kennedy Nzechukwu def. Dennis Bryant by TKO at 1:48 of round 1: Light heavyweight

Nzechukwu came out landing his strikes, prompting Bryant to shoot in. Back on the feet, Nzechukwu landed a head kick just as Bryant was shooting in again, knocking Bryant to the floor. A couple of academic ground strikes landed before the referee stepped in and stopped the fight.

Bobby Moffett def. Jacob Kilburn by submission (D’arce) at 1:02 of round 2: Featherweight

Moffett was quick to get a takedown and get right to work to open up the fight. Kilburn struggled to get any separation and was constantly fighting off an arm triangle. From full mount, Moffett landed some strikes here and there, but you could tell he really wanted a sub. Kilburn came out in the second round spinning, but got taken down as a result. Moffett quickly locked up a D’arce and that was a wrap!

Alex Gilpin def. JR Coughran by submission (D’arce) at 1:55 of round 2: Featherweight

The featherweights met in the middle and began trading combos. Coughran worked his body jab and leg kicks, throwing more volume than his opponent. Gilpin started bleeding from the right eye, but he also started throwing back, initiating a brawl and getting himself into the fight. Gilpin found top position early in the second round, and quickly locked up a D’arce. Coughran fought the hold, but was unable to escape in time and was forced to tap out.
