Now, MMA Junkie is reporting that Green faced several traffic violations in the months and weeks leading up to the catastrophic accident. According to the report, Green was cited two weeks prior for driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance after he was involved in a minor car accident. He currently has a court hearing set for September 6.
In addition, Desmond was stopped by police in Fort Lauderdale this past April for an expired registration. Green admitted to having marijuana and mushrooms on his person after police questioned the smell of cannabis coming from his vehicle. Green is set to appear in court for that transgression on August 30 after avoiding a warrant issued for his arrest.
Now, it remains to be seen just what comes out of the toxicology reports after Green’s latest fender bender which took the lives of two innocent people.
As for his fighting future, despite the accident and his upcoming court dates, Green is still scheduled to face Mairbek Taisumov at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 136 event on FOX Sports 1, which goes down inside Olimpiyskiy Stadium on September 15, 2018, in Moscow, Russia.
