Boxing icon Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a kind and generous soul and despite all the times Conor McGregor trashed him on social media, “Money” is willing to let bygones be bygones and help “Notorious” prepare for his upcoming title fight.
An offer he also extended to Ronda Rousey, which not surprisingly, was summarily declined.
“I know that UFC got a training facility but we’d like for him to work out at the Mayweather Boxing Club,” Mayweather said. “Conor’s not gonna back down and he’s not a scared fighter at all, so win, lose or draw, Conor gonna come to fight.”
It’s like Apollo Creed training Rocky Balboa for Clubber Lang.
While McGregor is probably the best striker in the lightweight division, he was outclassed by Mayweather when they went to war inside the boxing ring roughly one year back, one of the many reasons “Notorious” has been out of action for over two years.
Regardless of who he trains with, McGregor will have to try to hand Khabib Nurmagomedov the first loss of his professional career in the UFC 229 pay-per-view (PPV) main event next month in Las Vegas, Nevada.
