From Anderson Silva to Robert Whittaker, we break down the complete history of the UFC middleweight rankings.

The UFC middleweight division has seen its top-10 change over the course of the past five years. Fighters like Chris Weidman, Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping rose to the top before being defeated as champion. Others like Yoel Romero and Lyoto Machida climbed the rankings but failed to capture a title.

The middleweight division was heavily impacted by drug test failures, fighters moving to Bellator MMA and the middleweight debut of a certain French-Canadian. There were also plenty of fighters who cracked the Top 10 of the UFC Middleweight rankings, but failed to emerge as a potential title challenger.

In the video above, we go back to February 2013, when the UFC first implemented the official UFC rankings, to see how we ended up with our current rankings.
