Conor McGregor hasn’t been in the public eye much since the UFC announced his big superfight with Khabib Nurmagomedov was announced. There have even been rumors that he’s refusing to do media for this fight, deciding instead to spend every minute training for what many consider his toughest test in the Octagon. His Instagram account certainly backs up the time he’s spent in the gym. It’s photo after photo of McGregor looking beat after hard sessions.
The latest missive that made us take note, though, is this latest Rocky reference where McGregor channels Ivan Drago…
”If he dies, he dies,” McGregor wrote. “Then I’m paid twice.”
That’s an obvious callback to Rocky 4 after Ivan Drago beats Apollo Creed to death in the ring. Spooky. Who knows exactly how McGregor would get paid twice if that happens … it’s generally best not to consider this trash talk to seriously. Instead, let’s just appreciate the reference.
