Conor McGregor continues to chip away at Khabib Nurmagomedov on social media.
Brash Irishman Conor McGregor has been relatively quiet in the weeks leading up to his highly anticipated title bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov, but ‘The Notorious’ has had his moments on social media.
Last month McGregor called Khabib’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, ‘a quivering coward’ on Instagram, to which the Dagestani responded by claiming that nothing he says can get under their skin.
Despite team Nurmagomedov’s stoic attitude, McGregor has continued to chip away on social media, this time responding to a recent Instagram post made by the current lightweight champion.
McGregor uploaded what looks to be recent sparring footage at SBG Ireland, with the caption “step by step, you are getting stepped on.”
Khabib doesn’t seem to have taken the bait, but expect the 29-year-old to have his hands full with McGregor at Thursday’s UFC 229 press conference at Radio City Music Hall in New York. McGregor is usually in his element in front of the cameras, in person, so expect the former two-division champ to come at Nurmagomedov guns blazing (metaphorically speaking, of course) on Sept. 20.
UFC 229: Khabib vs. McGregor will take place next month, October 6, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
