Bellator 205: “McKee vs. Macapa” takes place TONIGHT (Fri., Sept. 21, 2018) at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho. A fast-rising Featherweight star named “Mercenary” A.J. McKee (11-0) will fight perennial contender “Macapa” John Teixeira (21-3-2) in the Paramount Network-televised main event. In addition, a fight originally set for Bellator 198 will finally get done in Boise as two Brazilian jiu-jitsu aces — Rafael Lovato Jr. (8-0) and John Salter (15-3) — meet at Middleweight, while knockout artist Patricky Freire (19-8) will face former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star Roger Huerta (24-10-1, 1 NC).
Bellator 205’s main card will start at 9 p.m. ET on Paramount Network. MMAmania.com will deliver results and play-by-play for the entirety of the Bellator MMA card, including the “Prelims” undercard that starts at 7 p.m. ET.

BELLATOR 205 PLAY-BY-PLAY:
A.J. McKee vs. John Teixeira
“Macapa” Teixeira with over double the experience at 21-3-2 wearing the blue gloves and red trunks with black trim, fighting out of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. “Mercenary” McKee comes in tonight an unblemished 11-0 with the red gloves and black trunks on, fighting out of Long Beach, California. Our referee is Mike Beltran.
Round 1: Glove tap and we’re underway! McKee throws a head kick right away. The two are trading very hard hands early. McKee throws another head kick and Teixeira throws a big body kick. McKee throws a spin kick and has to scramble back to his feet, but after he does McKee LEVELS Teixeira with a left hand to the chin. Teixeira’s entire body goes limp with his head nearly detaching from his neck, so instead of a follow up shot on the ground McKee gets up and and runs up the cage to do a backflip and celebrate. This one is OVER.
Final result: A.J. McKee wins by KNOCKOUT at 1:09 of the first round.
Rafael Lovato Jr. vs. John Salter
Red gloves with black and white trunks for Salter (15-3) on a seven fight win streak. Blue gloves and black trunks for the undefeated BJJ world champion Lovato (8-0). Lovato fights out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Salter fights out of Wilmington, North Carolina. Our referee in charge is Mark Smith.
Round 1: Glove tap to start R1 as Smith reminds both men to watch the fingers repeatedly. The first 45 seconds are all stand up striking. Lovato forces Salter toward the fence but Salter backs him up. Another finger warning at the two minute mark. More outside leg kicks as the round wears on. Both men clinch on the fence at 3:39. They break at 3:58. Lovato is swinging hard and just misses with a big right before the round ends. 10-9 Salter.
Round 2: Salter makes Lovato stumble to the ground early in R2. Lovato traps Salter’s head as the fight goes to the ground and as we pass the two minute mark he’s still holding on. Smith keeps reminding both men to improve on the ground. Salter takes him down when Lovato stands back up. They stand up again with under 90 seconds left. Salter gets another takedown and Lovato tries once more to trap the head but doesn’t have the angle for the squeeze and lets go with 33 seconds left to go. 10-9 Lovato off the submission attempts as Salter never did anything offensive with his takedowns.
Round 3: Lovato goes for a flying knee and misses. Salter drops levels off it and tries to take the back. Smith calls for more work. They reset at 1:48. Lovato throws a head kick that’s checked. Salter misses with an uppercut. Lovato throws a right and ducks under but Salter pushes him into the fence and drops levels. Lovato blocks it and gets on top then takes the back mount, then unloads with lefts and rights from full mount as Salter turns back over. Salter gives up his back again as Smith warns him to defend himself. 90 seconds left. Lovato tries to control the left arm while using his right to throw hands to the head and under the arm. Lovato goes palm to palm with a rear naked choke and Salter taps out!
Final result: Rafael Lovato Jr. submits John Salter (RNC) at 4:27 in round three.
Patricky Freire vs. Roger Huerta
Blue gloves and tan trunks for “El Matador” Roger Huerta, with a career record of 24-10-1, 1 NC to date. Red gloves and black trunks for “Pitbull” Patricky Freire, coming in 19-8 overall. Huerta fights out of Phuket, Thailand. Freire fights out of Natal, Brazil. Our referee in charge of the fight is Tom Supnet.
Round 1: Both men come straight to the center shaking their hands at each other, baiting someone to make the first move. Huerta comes forward and Freire waits to land a perfect counter shot. Huerta continues to throw kicks to the body and Freire responds in with rights to the head. Huerta hurts Freire but he backs off and recovers quickly. Huerta continues to back Pitbull toward the fence but he eats a big left for it and the two start throwing wildly at each other at 3:45. Blood is streaming down his face and Freire slows him down with a really hard right. Freire takes him down at 4:37. 10-9 round for Huerta.
Round 2: R2 starts where R1 left off with both men swinging wildly. Huerta gets rocked by a left hook he never saw coming at the half minute mark, gets back up, then gets rocked again with a short right to the face against the fence. Huerta drops to his knees and physically surrenders with his arm over his head, and IT IS ALL OVER. Huerta’s nose has been completely flattened.
Final result: Patricky “Pitbull” Freire wins via second round knockout at 0:43.
Veta Arteaga vs. Denise Kielholtz
Kielholtz is wearing the black top and trunks with blue gloves, 2-1 in mixed martial arts and a world champion in kickboxing (47-3). Arteaga is in silver head to toe with the red gloves and a pro record of 4-2. “Miss Dynamite” fights out of Amsterdam, Netherlands. Arteaga fights out of Boise, Idaho. Our referee in charge is Mike Beltran.
Round 1: Glove tap gets us started. Arteaga tries to quickly take her opponent’s back but Kielholtz spins out on top and gets back to her feet. Kielholtz backs up and lets Arteaga take the center, then unloads with a flurry when she gets into range. Arteaga puts her against the fence to grind for a bit. Kielholtz turns her around and breaks off again. They trade hands and Kielholtz lands a solid right. Arteaga shoots at 2:26 but Kielholtz slips behind her and breaks free one more time. Kielholtz puts several hard lefts on the chin. Arteaga shoots again and Kielholtz defends, slams her down, punches her a couple times in the face with rights, then lets her stand up. Arteaga with a couple overhand rights. Kielholtz with a left. 10-9 Kielholtz.
Round 2: Arteaga goes for a takedown at 34 seconds and Kielholtz cuts her off at the pass, turns her around against the fence and breaks. One wonders how many more times Arteaga will try this given it’s not working. She tries to drop levels again at 1:10 and the result is exactly the same, with Kielholtz throwing a right on the break. The ladies get into an exchange and Arteaga finally lifts Kielholtz off her feet for a takedown. Arteaga tries to pass from half guard to take the back but Kielholtz scrambles and gets back up at 2:56. Kielholtz gets a takedown of her own at 3:50 but Arteaga gets back up with the head trapped trying to get a guillotine choke. Kielholtz keeps trying to break free but Arteaga keeps on cranking and finally Kielholtz taps out!!!
Final result: Veta Arteaga wins via submission (guillotine choke) at 4:24 in round two.

Hugo is 3-4 in the blue gloves and green trunks, Morales is 7-2 in the red gloves and black trunks. Hugo fights out of Lacey, Washington. Morales fights out of Ontario, Oregon. Our referee in charge is Mike Beltran.
Round 1: Glove tap gets us started. Morales forces Hugo to the outside repeatedly. Hugo charges forward, misses, and starts backing up again. Morales is keeping his right hand high, circling his left hand as he comes forward. Hugo throws an outside leg kick and teases a jump knee. Morales has never been to the scorecard for a decision in his career so far. Morales opens up with a combo at 3:09 and everything lands. He does it again at 4:04 with similar success. The only way Hugo can keep Morales off him is with leg kicks. 10-9 Morales.
Round 2: Hugo lands a decent right hand and body kick early in R2 but Morales walks through them, puts Hugo on his back with his counter attack, and lets him back up. Hugo takes a shot to the cup and the ref calls time. Hugo recovers quickly but he doesn’t recover from the nasty combo Morales puts him down with at 1:50. Morales lets him back up again. Hugo shoots for a single leg and Morales peels him off. Hugo over the top with a right hand before he eats another two piece. A right drops him again and he’s sitting up against the fence. Morales lets him back up again. Morales is starting to treat him like a heavy bag. He gets hurt again at 4:10 and tries to counter to a leg lock on the ground but Morales pulls out. 10-9 Morales.
Round 3: Respect gloves to open the round. Beltran warns both men not to clash heads. He gets creamed with a right hand at 1:00 and tries to shake his head and smile it off. He tags Hugo again at 1:29. Hugo dives for a leg and misses by a mile. He gets a body lock but Morales breaks off at 2:14. Morales connects again with the right and Hugo gets back to his feet slowly. Hugo tries to flop to the ground and let Morales jump on top – Beltran just makes him get back up. Hugo lands a right hand and Morales responds in kind. Morales with an uppercut at 4:23 he tries to shake off. Morales takes him down and stays on top for 20 seconds or so to cement what should be an easy unanimous decision.
Final result: The judges score it 30-25, 30-27, 29-27 all for Vince Morales.
Johnny Nunez vs. Josh Wick

Jarod Trice vs. Sean Powers
Red gloves, 3-0 for Trice. Blue gloves, 9-6 for Powers. This fight is a catchweight bout of 190 lbs. Powers fights out of Roy, Utah and Trice fights out of Tempe, Arizona. Our referee in charge of the fight is Mike Beltran.
Round 1: Trice puts a left on the chin early, lands the overhand right, and swarms forward to briefly press Powers into the fence. He resets back to center and swings wild with a left, then puts a right behind Powers’ ear. Powers stumbles to the ground and gets back up. Trice continues to hunt with the overhand right. Trice misses with one left hook, lands the next and goes for a single leg, pushing Powers into the cage. Powers finally gets slammed to the ground at 1:58 but pops right back up. Powers tries to catch a leg kick but Trice shakes loose. Trice continues to wind up and unload the rights, working the left jab in along the way. Powers responds with leg kicks. Powers with a few good jabs and kicks late but it’s a 10-9 R1 for Trice.
Round 2: Glove tap to open R2. Huge overhand right at 14 seconds for Trice but Powers keeps his feet. Powers is wincing now whenever he thinks one is coming his way. Trice opts to grab a hold and work his way to Powers’ side standing, looking for a trip or takedown from the clinch. Powers tries to respond with a knee to the body and uses Trice’s own momentum to take him down, but Trice springs right back up. Leg kick by Trice. Overhand right for Trice misses. Left jab connects. Powers narrowly avoids a spinning backfist. Powers is consistently pushing forward this round. Body shot for Trice. A much closer round but one which still edges toward Trice 10-9 for landing the cleaner harder shots.
Round 3: Double glove tap to open our final round. Powers continues to pressure but Trice sends him flying backward hopping on one leg to avoid a takedown. Powers gets his head snapped back with a left but fires a flurry back. Trice with body shots and uppercuts as the round wears on. When Powers fires a shot Trice usually gets his hands up to block, but a head kick and a left hand get through. Trice responds with a left. Trice with a late takedown at 4:42 but he lets Powers back up. Powers lands a superman punch and Trice goes for a spinning backfist at the same time. Wild exchange to end the bout. 10-9 Trice.
Final result: The judges score it 29-28 Trice, 29-28 Powers, 29-28 for Trice by split decision.
Adam Borics vs. Josenaldo Silva
White trunks and blue gloves for Silva, 25-6, fighting out of Layton, Utah. Black trunks and red gloves for Borics, 7-0, fighting out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Our referee in charge of this fight is Tom Supnet.
Round 1: Tap of gloves to start. Both men trade kicks quickly. It’s worth noting that Silva missed weight for this fight (147.5). Borics clips him with a left hook and goes for a flying knee. Silva presses and Borics fires off a 1-2. Both men swing away at 1:57. Another flurry for Borics at 2:52. Silva misses with a right, clinches, lets go, and clinches again. They go into the fence and Borics turns him around. There’s a small trickle of blood from above Borics left eye. Another flying knee from Borics that doesn’t put Silva in any danger. Silva shoots with 20 seconds left. I give a very narrow 10-9 to Borics.
Round 2: Silva comes out VERY aggressively to open R2 and gets Borics into the cage, where he draws a warning to not grab the fence. Silva stays on him from behind stomping on his feet and throwing knees. Borics gets a second warning at 1:42. He finally turns out and gets away but Silva clips him as he does. Silva double pumps the right and connects. Kick from Borics. Body kick for Silva. Silva likes to shake his head and stomp his foot to try to throw Borics off. Silva nearly takes Borics down at 3:16 but decides to let it go and not risk being countered. The blood is streaming down Borics’ face now from the left eyebrow. They clinch up and Silva throws the knee as they break. Right hook leg kick and flurry by Silva. Borics got stung at 4:30. Strong 10-9 for Silva.
Round 3: Borics’ corner wasn’t pulling any punches between rounds, telling him he wasn’t being active enough in R2. Silva clinches immediately to open R3 and Borics turns him around into the fence. They break at 30 seconds. Left hook for Borics. High kick for Borics. Silva with a combo. The referee calls time as Silva takes a finger to the eye. He decides Silva can see and doesn’t call in the doctor — we restart right away. Silva drops levels but Borics counters it and takes his back as Silva stands, then sinks in the rear naked choke, and quickly gets the submission! That was just as fast and deadly as any knockout you’ll see.
Final result: Adam Borics wins via submission (rear naked choke) at 1:46 of round three.
Sua Tuani vs. Emilio Trevino
Trevino is in the blue gloves with gray trunks, Tuani the red with black trunks, and both men are 2-0. Trevino fights out of Boise, Idaho. Tuani fights out of Kent, Washington. Our referee in charge is Tom Supnet.
Round 1: Tuani has Trevino backing up early and is firing off leg kicks. Tuani hammers home a series of inside left kicks to Trevino’s left leg, but he gets stunned by a big right hook. He comes back with a right and an uppercut that misses. Tuani eats another flush right. Tuani throws a head kick to back Trevino up but eats a straight left hand afterward. Tuani lands a superman punch and misses with an overhand right. Trevino hits a left jab. Trevino is connecting with more consistent and accurate shots throughout the round. Another straight left finds Tuani’s chin at 4:05 along with a right hook that clips the ear. Head kick for Trevino. Left jab. Left again. Wild charging right from Tuani misses. 10-9 Trevino.
Round 2: Body kick for Trevino. Leg kick for Tuani. Tuani keeps getting tagged with jabs and hooks and missing with his own wild blows. Tuani seems momentarily stunned at 1:20 and Trevino presses him toward the fence, then resets to the center. Jumping knee by Trevino. Right hook by Trevino, Tuani turns away and falls to his knees (physical surrender) and the ref steps right in. Trevino wins by TKO.
Final result: Emilio Trevino gets the technical knockout at 1:55 of the second round.

Round 1: Moa lands the right right hook. Mowry has a clear height and reach advantage but Moa is being aggressive to close the gap. Mowry takes cautious steps toward Moa, clinches for a knee to the body and lands a right hook as Moa escapes. Mowry with a jab and body kick as he keeps stalking Moa. Mowry gets a takedown to side control at 2:06. Mowry cinches up the right arm and seconds later Moa QUICKLY taps the back to the americana.
