That was fast.
Just two weeks after he was bounced from his UFC Sao Paulo main event against Thiago Santos, light heavyweight power puncher Jimi Manuwa (17-4) has already been rebooked to throw hands against the Brazilian bomber at the upcoming UFC 231 pay-per-view (PPV) event on Dec. 8 in Toronto, Canada.
During his absence, Santos (19-6) took on late replacement Eryk Anders and smashed “Ya Boy” by way of third-round technical knockout (see it again here). But since Anders (11-2) was game enough to answer the call, the promotion rewarded his short-notice loyalty with a fight at UFC 231 as well, where he’ll battle middleweight “Spartan” Elias Theodorou (15-2).

Headlined by the featherweight title fight pitting Max Holloway opposite Brian Ortega, UFC 231 will also feature the women’s flyweight showdown featuring Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Valentina Shevchenko, who collide for the vacant 125-pound strap. In addition, Claudia Gadelha and Nina Ansaroff hook ‘em up in strawweight action.
Stay tuned for more UFC 231 fight card announcements in the coming weeks.
