Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) next pay-per-view (PPV) offering will see the promotion stage UFC 231 inside Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Sat., Dec. 8, 2018.
The event will be headlined by a highly-intriguing Featherweight title fight that will see division king Max Holloway defend his title against undefeated (14-0-1, 6-0 UFC) submission wizard, Brian Ortega. Working his way up the ladder, “T-City” has dominated the competition, finishing all seven of his fights inside the Octagon, including one over Mike de la Rosa, which was eventually overturned to a no-contest due to a failed drug test.
His next test, though, will be the biggest one of all.
Indeed, Holloway has been blitzing through the 145-pound division, winning 12 straight fights including capturing the strap by defeating Jose Aldo, and then subsequently defending it against “Junior” months later. In fact, Max hasn’t tasted defeat in four years since losing to Conor McGregor.
Now, two of the youngest and brightest stars in all of mixed martial arts (MMA) will test their skills against one another in a bout that could very well usher in a new era.
In the co-main event, former women’s Strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Valentina Shevchenko duke it out for the vacant Flyweight title.
