Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight contender, Brandon Vera, returned to mixed martial arts (MMA) action after nearly two years on the sidelines to defend his 265-pound strap against Mauro Cerilli at ONE: “Conquest of Champions” on Friday in Manila.
It was worth the wait.
Vera (16-7, 1 NC) needed just 64 seconds to fold the overly-aggressive Cerilli (12-3), perhaps best known for his title reign for Cage Warriors, thanks to a fade-away counterpunch that left the bearded brawler looking up at the lights.
