The promotion’s #5 lightweight Edson Barboza just stopped the #14 ranked Dan Hooker with a body shot in the UFC on FOX 31 co-main event. Barboza landed a variety of strikes, from punches to kicks, and to both the head and the body. Hooker ate the bulk of the shots and kept coming forward, but the strikes of Barboza were relentless.

Round 3 – The doctor talked to Hooker and deemed him okay to continue. Barboza goes right to the inside leg kick. Jabs. Hooker firing jabs too. Hooker pressing forward but his knee is messed up. Hooker scoops a single and moves Barboza to the fence. Barboza spins away and lands a devastating body kick. Hooker is doubled over in pain. Four more body kicks. My god. Hooker fires back somehow! Barboza misss with a wheel kick. Body kick from Barboza. Two big kneees. Elbow. Hooker still punching back. Another body shot, finally, mercifully, puts Hooker down. It’s over.
