Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) continues to expand its UFC 235 pay-per-view (PPV) fight card, thanks to the addition of the light heavyweight slugfest pitting longtime contender, Ovince Saint Preux, against power-punching Misha Cirkunov, who collide on Sat., March 2, 2019 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Saint Preux (23-12) has always been a tough out at 205 pounds, but has struggled to stay consistent over the course of his career. After losing three straight from 2016-17, the now 35 year-old “OSP” rebounded with a 5-1 run, only to get upended by Dominick Reyes at UFC 229.
As for Cirkunov (14-4), he was expected to be the future of the division (based on this scouting report). Unfortunately, the Latvian brawler was finished in consecutive fights against Volkan Oezdemir and Glover Teixeira, though he recently rebounded with a submission win over Patrick Cummins.
UFC 235 is expected to feature the next welterweight title defense for Tyron Woodley, though it’s unknown whether he’ll face Colby Covington or Kamaru Usman.
Stay tuned.
